Making tattoo designs more meaningful using product descriptions

In the spring of 2020, amid a massive site overhaul, Inkbox was brainstorming ways to strengthen the sales of their top designs (10% of the ~15,000 tattoos on the website at the time accounted for 90% of sales). Crafting unique product descriptions for their most popular pieces was one of them.

Medusa: Meet Greek mythology's most marvelous monster, Medusa. Famous for her ability to turn unwelcome onlookers to stone, the snake-haired stunner was hated (and ultimately murdered) by the men in ancient myth. Her legacy is long-lasting, though, and today many people consider her a feminist icon thanks to her anti-patriarchal power.

Perfect Balance: Swimming serenely side-by-side, these cute koi fish strike a beautiful balance. Modelled after the well-known yin-yang symbol, their contrasting colors and mirrored movements represent the many dualities that define our lives — light and dark, good and bad, life and death, hot and cold, up and down. One can't exist without the other, and together they make the perfect pair.

Sudbina: Like the glorious, glowing planet at the center of our solar system, you can shine bright day and night thanks to this sweet lil' sun tattoo.
